DAY TOURS FROM LAS VEGAS-
GRAND CANOYN TOURS FROM LAS VEGAS –
GRAND CANYON -The Grand Canyon, located in the state of Arizona, is considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World, due to its sensational decorative colors and majestic natural beauty ,carved in 5-6 millions years. Grand Canyon is known for its visually overwhelming size and its intricate and colorful landscape. It measures 18 miles wide (29 km), 277 miles (446 km) long, and a mile (1.8 km) deep. The 277 mile long (446 km) canyon separates the park into South and North Rims. The Grand Canyon of the Colorado River creates a barrier that bisects the park. Grand Canyon National Park boasts an elevation change of nearly 7,000 feet from Point Imperial (at nearly 9,000 feet) to the banks of Lake Mead (at 2,000 feet). Scenery, climate and vegetation are different between north and south rims because of differences in elevation. The park was founded as Grand Canyon National Monument in 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt, and became a national park in 1919. The Colorado River, which flows through the canyon, drains water from seven states, but the Grand Canyon is entirely in Arizona. Most of the Grand Canyon area lies within Grand Canyon National Park and is managed by the National Park Service and the Hualapai Tribal Nation, and the Havasupai Tribe. The southwestern end of the canyon is located within the borders of two Indian reservations: the Havasupai Indian Reservation and the Hualapai Indian Reservation (also known as Grand Canyon West). The first European known to have viewed the Grand Canyon was García López de Cárdenas from Spain, who arrived in 1540. The Geological process that caused the formation of the Grand Canyon began 17 million years ago as the Colorado River began its artistic carving through erosion. Over this time period, the continuous eroding of the river has formed the current present-day layout. The Grand Canyon is famous for its geologic significance. Geologically it is significant because of the thick sequence of ancient rocks that is beautifully preserved and exposed in the walls of the canyon. These rock layers record much of the early geologic history of the North American continent. The Park has three main sections, the South Rim, North Rim, and the Inner Canyon. There are 1737 known plant species of vascular plants,167 of fungi,64 species of moss and 195 species of lichen found in Grand Canyon. This variety is due to change from river to the top of rim which from Point Imperial to Banks of Lake Mead by 7,000 feet.34 mammals are found along the Canyon. The Grand Canyon national park receives nearly 5 million visitors from over 100 countries every year. Before you arrive you need to decide where to stay. The most famous animal in the park is the rare California Condor. They can occasionally be seen flying near Grand Canyon Village on the South Rim.
A- South Rim –South Rim is open to the public all year, is the most popular part of the park for tourists due to its ease of access. This area includes the Desert view, Hermist Rest, and the Grand Canyon Village. This includes all visitor services like food service, lodging accommodations and camping. Because the spring, summer and fall seasons are the busiest, reservations should be made in advance. The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is located on the "Arizona" side of the Canyon. The South Rim receives 90% of the park's visitors. The South Rim has an airport and rail service and is a 90 minute drive from Interstate 40 and the transportation centers of Williams and Flagstaff, Arizona. South Rim is located 60 miles north of Williams, Arizona (via route 64 from Interstate 40) and 80 miles northwest of Flagstaff (via route 180). Las Vegas, NV - 278 miles / 447 kilometers.South Rim has two side to view the Grand Canyon-

There are two lanes for automobile traffic across the top of the dam, which formerly served as the Colorado River crossing for U.S. Route 93.
