HOW TO GET TO BORACAY ISLAND-
Boracay is served by two airports: Kalibo International Airport (ITA-KLO) and Godofredo P. Ramos Airport commonly referred to as the Caticlan airport [Caticlan Airport* (ITA-MPH)]. Between the two, Caticlan Airport is much closer and provides a more convenient access to Boracay. In fact, even travellers coming from Kalibo Airport still need to pass through Caticlan because the jetty port (Caticlan Jetty) to Boracay is at Caticlan. Kalibo is farther, requiring around 2 hours of travel time, but fares are much cheaper (check it).
However, Caticlan Airport operates fewer flights than Kalibo, especially back in the day when sunset limitation was still a problem and it was not equipped to function at night. Today, there are evening flights, but they’re still very few. Airlines also use smaller aircraft for Caticlan. Hence, Caticlan flights tend to be much, much more expensive than Kalibo flights even if you add the cost of transfers.
a-From Manila, fly to Kalibo or Caticlan and to Caticlan Jetty Port-
i-If Kalibo, take a bus or van (P200) at the airport to Caticlan Jetty Port.
ii-If Caticlan, just take a trike to Caticlan Jetty Port- Upon arrival at Caticlan Airport, get out of the building and walk past the vans. You’ll find tricycles waiting for passengers. They can take you to Caticlan Jetty Port.

Travel time: 5-10 minutes.
b- At Caticlan Jetty Port-
i-Registration-You’ll find tents and tables set up outside the building. Look for the Registration Area and queue up. You’ll be asked to write down your name (and your companions’) on a logbook. This is used to monitor the number of tourists visiting Boracay.
ii-Verification Process- Here, you’ll need to present proof of accommodations. Since Boracay reopened in 2018, it is now mandatory to have hotel booking if you’re spending at least one night in the island.
iii-Decide the Type of ferry Boat- There are two types of boat for transfer.First decide whether you want to take the cheaper pump boat or the bigger but pricier Oyster Ferry. There are separate queues for pump boats and oyster ferry, so make up your mind first.

Travel time- It is 10-15 minutes.

WHITE BEACH-With its glorious, powdered-sugar sand, White Beach is the centre of the action in Boracay and the only sight for the visitors. Beach locations are defined relative to three former boat stations, where Bangkas from Caticlan used to arrive. White Beach is 4 kilometres long and is divided into 3 sections: Boat Station 1, Boat Station 2, and Boat Station 3. You’ll find that hotels and restaurants use these boat stations as markers of reference. Station 1 is known to be the high-end area; Station 2 is where most of the restaurants, bars, and shopping are located; and Station 3 (Angol) is the quieter area away from nightlife and contains most of the budget accommodation, including a few remnants of Old Boracay. The entire beach is paralleled by a sandy pedestrian highway – the White Beach Path – where motorised vehicles are officially banned. Several roads and paths connect the Beachfront Path with Boracay's Main Road, a vehicular road which runs the length of the island. Sunset is the busiest time on White Beach, especially in Station 2.
About Station 1-Station -1 is the most spacious part of White Beach, with the most beautiful shallow water. The beach is relatively quiet and the area has a luxurious feel to it. Station -1 stretch of beach is 1.5 km long with three stretches, each 500m long.
i-The North is the most quiet and serene area. The beach is at its most beautiful there, and it’s where you’ll find most of the luxury resorts. This is the best area to stay in. It’s a 20 minute walk away from D’Mall, though most resorts there offer a free shuttle service.
ii-The Middle is similar to the north but with mostly mid-range accommodation, and some nightlife and restaurants. There are a bit more people there, especially around Willy’s Rock, which is one of the best places to watch the sunset, and also the area with the most beautiful shallow water in Boracay. This area is a 10 minute walk away from D’Mall.
iii-The South looks similar to Station- 2. It’s close to many of Boracay’s restaurants and nightlife venues, yet still close to the more quiet areas of Station- 1 as well. It’s just a few minutes walk away from D’Mall.
About Station- 2-Station Two is the centre of White Beach. It has a vibrant nightlife and many restaurants. The beach can become a bit busy sometimes, but that usually only happens during sunset.
Station Two’s stretch of beach is 1 km long.
i-The D’Mall Area is the centre of Boracay. It’s the best area to stay in if you like everything within close walking distance. The beach is relatively busy there, but the more quiet Station- 1 and 3 are only a 10 to 15 minute walk away.
ii-The South is less busy, plus it has some nice peaceful areas with a good amount of palm trees, my favourite being the El Centro Beachfront. It’s also where you’ll find the seafood market, named D’Talipapa.
About Station -3-Station Three’s stretch of beach is 1.5 km long. Along it you’ll finds 3 different areas which each have their own distinct vibe. These areas as the North, South and Far South.
i-The North its vibe is similar to Station- 2 .
ii-The South is the area that most people love. It’s relatively quiet, with a laid back, rustic vibe and lots of greenery and palm trees. Getting from here to D’Mall takes about 30 minutes by foot, or 15 minutes by tricycle.
iii-The Far South is the most quiet and peaceful part of the beach. There is no designated beach path there, which is why most people never walk up to that point. It’s the beach in its most pure form, with only few buildings around.

BULABOG BEACH-Bulabog Beach is popular for water activities, such as banana boat and flying fish rides, parasailing, and kiteboarding. There is a sloping trails of Mt. Luho Road. It is a beach for Kite Surfers. Even if you have no intentions of surfing, Bulabog Beach is only 1km away from White Beach- an easy walk if you’re curious to watch some kite surfers.
LUGUTAN BEACH-Lugutan Beach, opposite Station -3, serves as a docking station of boats plying the island and nearby Caticlan.

001-The Willy’s Rock- Situated one hundred meters off shore, in the shallow water. Willy’s Rock is one of the most visited places in Boracay island, Philippines. Located in the central area of White Beach, Station 1, it is a strangely shaped volcanic rock. Basically it is a three rock structure with a few palm trees and shrubs. There is also a chapel at the top on one of the corners, with a 1.2 m tall statue of Blessed Virgin Mary. It can be reached through a flight of stairs from the bottom. Boasting of enchanting panoramic vistas of the ocean, the place is also one of the top photographed places in the Philippines. The rock formation gets submerged during high tide and is only visible like an islet. It’s beautiful to walk through and will leave you in awe on a good day.
002-Island Hopping- Join an all-day 6-hour island hopping tour on top of a classic catamaran equipped with a professional captain and attentive staff. Most island tours stop by same islands and beaches: Balinghai Beach, Crystal Cove, Crocodile Island, Magic Island West Cove, and Puka Beach. The day will be spent snorkelling, jumping off the boat into the water, tanning on the deck, and coming to shore to explore. Of course, there will be a lunch buffet with fresh mango, barbequed chicken, sides, and beverages.
003- Crocodile Island- As you will see when approaching the island, it genuinely resembles a large crocodile both in shape and texture from the foliage. Surrounding this bizarre island is some of the best snorkelling in Boracay. The reef here has been undisturbed as there is no construction and the presence of many tourists is scarce.
004- Crystal Cove Island- 20 minutes from the shore lays Crystal Cove Island- a small Private island with pristine white sand beaches and quirky huts, play places and sculptures scattered all around. You can snorkel or explore some of the island’s caves where collections of crystals have formed. Some of these caves are dead ends, but some of them are passageways through to the other side of the island. It’s a strange experience that is definitely worth a visit.

005-Parasailing-Parasailing is an exhilarating way to get amazing aerial views of Boracay and its surroundings, as the big parachute is pulled behind a swerving speedboat. You’ll have about 15 minutes of air time to enjoy. There is no need to book a parasail trip days in advance, as there are multiple boats ready to go all day. Simply walk down to the beach and someone will offer you a tour before you can even ask.
006-Paraw Sailing-Paraw Sailing is a local sail boat activity. The boats use two outriggers and two sails. The Paraw relies solely on the wind, so they are actually very eco-friendly. Experience the traditional way of sailing and discover the best sites around the island, perfect for photography – though do note on days with heavier waves the water can kick up a bit. Enjoy the soothing wind with your family and friends, get thrilled with a few bumps on the waves and get pampered with the relaxing experience during your sailing cruise.
Best done during sunset (relaxing calm weather and amazing sunset views).A Paraw can carry up to 6 people and you can choose between a private or a join in group tour, both normally last 1 hour.
The hull of the boat is very slim, allowing only one person to sit in the boat. The captain of the boat will be the one sitting in the actual boat. There are netting stretched over the outriggers for passengers to sit and lie down to appreciate the beautiful sunset. Paraw Sailing can be enjoyed at any time of the day. But the best time to do this activity will be around 5.30 pm when the sun is just about to set. In the centre of the hull, there is also a compartment to store belongings. You may want to bring along some drinks and food to enjoy during the ride while appreciating the beautiful sunset.

007- Cliff Diving at Ariel’s Point- Ariel’s Point is located near the rustic fishing town of Buruanga, a half hour boat ride from Boracay’s white beach. Look down from platforms as high as 15 meters (50 feet). Deep water makes diving from this height safe. Lifeguards are always present for safety.Lower heights are available, of course. Ariel's Point also has platforms at 5 meters (15 feet) and 8 meters (25 feet). Both beginner and seasoned divers can enjoy cliff diving.
Buruanga-It is located at the western tip of Panay Island. Various scenic spots such as caves, waterfalls, beaches, hills, and mountain parks are found throughout the area such as the Hinugtan White Beach, Batason (Ariel’s) Point, Langka Beach, Nasog Beach, Tuburan Baybay Beach, Tigis Beach/Falls, and Pagatpat Mangrove Park.
One must-see attraction is the 14-hectare Hacienda Maria. It features caves, waterfalls, and a whirlpool bath. You can jump from the cliff into 3-meter (10-feet) deep water. Notable cliffs are at Ariel's Point and Hacienda Maria.Enjoy the sights and sounds from Sunset Plaza year-round. Another attraction is the cascading waterfalls of Jawili Falls.

008- See Boracay from Above on Mount Luho- At 100 meters above sea level, Mt. Luho Viewpoint is the highest point in Boracay. Built on this peak is a small zoo housing a few mammal and avian species such as monkeys, bearcats, lesser frigatebirds, brahminy kites, and chinese chickens. The highlights of this destination, however, are its 200-meter zipline (P700/head) and its viewdeck. Standing on bamboo stilts, Mt. Luho's viewdeck offers a 360-degree view of islands Boracay, Carabao, Crystal Cove, and Panay. The deck also overlooks Bulabog Beach, the private beaches of Fairways and Bluewater Newcoast, and the nearby 180-hectare golf course. In addition, Mt. Luho Viewdeck is one of the optional stopovers when riding an all-terrain vehicle in Barangay Yapak.
You can get there either via a tricycle ride or via the ATV driving activity. A round trip tricycle ride costs ₱300 , and the entrance fee at the Mount Luho platform is ₱120.

009-Massage- After a fun filled day of activities, what better way is there to relax than with a massage, rest and let your body recharge for the evening. You can get a massage either along the beach or inside a spa. On the beach is usually cheaper, most commonly ₱350/pp for full body massage.
Rates: P300 to P500 per hour.

011- Shop At D’Mall- Boracay’s 3 different shopping centres, D’Mall, D’Talipapa and City Mall, each have their own appealing reasons to visit. D’Mall is not a mall but a market built in open air. It features various stalls and kiosks and looks like a maze. From clothes to souvenirs, you will find everything here. The market is also good for bars & restaurants. D’Mall consists out of 3 areas with somewhat different vibes. Those areas are the main street area, the beachside area, and the market area.
